Project: The Sunflower Bridge

A Community, collective, interactive project.

The sunflowers represent hope, the hope of spreading care, love, and blessing to those with inhibit this word.

What is it?

A Community, collective, interactive project to raise funds and awareness regarding Haiti’s needs for support, care, and money ( T, LC & M).

We are building a metaphorical sunflower bridge with Haiti.

Why Haiti needs your help?

Haitians, the people known for their indomitable souls, had ousted their French master back in 1971. How is it possible that they are not a leading nation? Well, they dearly paid for the crime of wanting a free Nation to thrive.

Fast forward to 2023, and they are still struggling with not only political unrest but also with the backlash of climate change.

Why do we care? The butterfly effect is real, and the people on the beautiful island of Haiti need help. We can start that butterfly effect today by assisting in the smallest or largest way possible.

What else do we want you to know?

Haiti has been working on rebuilding itself from the many hurricanes.

We are collaborating with The Real Word Ministries, Inc. and together we can help them to feed thousands of people, house hundreds of families, and speak to millions across the world.

Why do we want to help The Real Word Ministries, Inc. in this mission?

Because they are ready to work, and committed to strengthening their communities and beyond.

They work and recognize talent within the communities they support, supporting existing talented individuals and creating neighboring and strengthening existing social support systems for the residents of Brooklyn and beyond. Recently, They were fortunate enough to team up with an extremely talented Haitian Artist by the name of "Samuel "Sammo" Augustin" www.galleryawa.com/new-page

Mr. Augustin has been creating and teaching art for 20 years, including in our New York City Public School System.

Through this partnership. How do we contribute?

“The Real Word Ministries Inc.," is a 501c3 Non-Profit Tax Except Public Charity that was founded in Brooklyn, NY in 2018 by Fordham Alumni, Rickard Jean-Noel. Rickard Jean-Noel is a Haitian immigrant and a Clinical Social Worker who founded this charity to assist and empower those currently living in poverty and suffering from economic inequalities.

Together with the help of our proud supporters, we have been able to feed thousands of people, house hundreds of families, and speak to millions across the world.

About the Art Piece

It is an originally woven art piece by Martin Calvino that contains mostly sunflowers, small pieces of jewelry, and well-wishes from those who interact with it.

The sunflowers represent hope, the hope of spreading care, love, and blessing to those with inhibit this word.

How do individuals at the event participate?

Individuals at the event are offered little pieces of rags, where they can write well wishes for those in need or share a message of hope.

What happens next?

The artists sew the rags into the art piece, carefully creating an imaginary bridge of sunflowers that spread care, love, and hope.

About the Artwork: The artwork itself is for sale. Seventy percent of sales directly support Haiti’s rebuilding efforts.

Price: $13,750.00
